Our Company History

In the UK there is now a high demand from patients for treatments such as Permanent Hair Reduction, Non-ablative Skin Rejuvenation, laser Acne therapy and treatment of Vascular and Pigmented lesions.

General Practice Lasers Ltd was formed as a direct result of experienced individuals in the laser industry realising that GPs were not being catered for appropriately. Other companies will sell cutaneous lasers to beauty therapists and other non-medical establishments - GPL will only sell to medically qualified personnel who desire to offer their patients these new services. This was born because we, as a company, believe that the only people who can safely offer cutaneous laser treatments to patients are those who truly understand how the skin works. Of course GP's are able to recognise potential diseases that may exclude patients from treatment that beauty therapists cannot.

With the introduction of the Cutera CoolGlide product range in the UK, GPL are excited about the future. It is evident from the popularity of the Cutera systems (more have been sold Worldwide than any other manufacturer) that CoolGlide has become the Gold Standard.

Many International reference papers have been published on the long-term effectiveness of the CoolGlide laser procedures reinforcing the product's leading position in a competitive market.

The Cutera lasers provide practices with the additional peace of mind that each model can be upgraded to a higher specification or future standards when new systems are developed. This is very unusual in the laser industry.

The technology involved utilises the latest approach, where an Nd:YAG laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) source is used in combination to provide the greatest treatment versatility. In contrast to many other competitor systems, the generated light energy can be varied from short microsecond duration pulses to long millisecond duration pulses. This allows "fine" hairs to be treated more successfully - always a problem for other systems. This choice of pulse duration allows treatment of pigmented lesions such as Solar Lentigines and also Facial Telangiectasias and Rosacea.

GPL also understands that to some, setting up additional practice services is daunting and so the company offers a full service which incorporates how to set up a laser practice, full training for you and your staff, right through to how best to market your new laser service.

The state of the art systems offer a full range of safe treatments to your patients. Furthermore GPL fully trains a new customer to the level that our experienced clinical governance luminaries deem is proficient and certificates new users appropriately.
